Blythe Books began in 2023 as a simple idea from owner Lizzie - a bookstore for bookworms. A store filled with not just wonderful books to read, but fun bookish items to browse through too. Blythe Books would be a gathering place for book lovers who had ever stayed up way too late trying to finish their latest novel, for writers who dreamed of hitting the Bestsellers List, and for Pittsburghers who enjoy shopping local.

We made the decision to become a used bookstore to help sustainability efforts in Allegheny County and Pennsylvania as a whole. Also, used books are just fun to search for!

Beyond just book buying, Blythe Books aims to become a community space within the neighborhood, a meeting place for friends, families, and locals to gather and support small businesses. We aim to source as many items as possible from Pittsburgh-based artists and vendor. Free and paid classes will also be hosted by skilled locals. Shopping at Blythe Books will keep money in the community and Allegheny County as you support not just our bookstore but others whose goods we sell too.
