All teachers receive 10% off their entire order for the evening when they show their active teacher credentials.
This Appreciation Night deal applies to any teacher in a public school, private school, preschool, or daycare.
Little Ones Story Time
Little Ones Story Time is our monthly event for kids ages 2-5 to come to Blythe Books and hear a story read to them from one of our employees or a guest reader. Caretakers are welcome to enjoy the story with their child/children at our event.
Little Ones Story Time is free for all to attend.
Book Bedazzling Class
Join us at Blythe Books for a Book Bedazzling event. Enjoy a calming evening as we bedazzle some of our favorite book covers to make them show-stopping pieces worthy of display.
Space is limited and tickets go on sale on April 1, 2025. Tickets will be available both through our website and in-store while supplies last.
The cost of the ticket includes all supplies minus a book of your choice. Wine and non-alcoholic drink items will also be included in the price of the ticket.

The Great Pittsburgh Book Crawl
The first annual Great Pittsburgh Book Crawl is here! Join two dozen participating indie bookstores and spend nine days supporting all of them throughout the western Pennsylvania area.
Obtain a free passport at any participating location and have it stamped for each store that you visit. Passports with enough stamps on them can be submitted to win prizes from the Book Crawl.

At Blythe Books we are planning to host special and unique events every day of the crawl, as well as Loyalty Point bonus days on certain days. Keep in touch through our newsletter for your chance to learn about all of the events ahead of time.
Events for our Book Crawl week will be all-ages and mostly free to attend. We’re sensing one event will be ticketed, but more details on that later.
Book Signing with R. L. Davennor
Join Blythe Books as we welcome local author R. L. Davennor to our store, author of the popular Hells of Notre Dame and A Land of Never After series, two fairy tale retellings that bring some of your favorite characters together in a new and surprising way.
Books will be available to purchase during the event, as well as the chance to meet Rae and purchase books that are not usually sold at Blythe Books.
This event is free to attend and open to the public.
Kisses Under the Pillow Sensory Play + Shop
Join us for a sensory play event at Blythe Books hosted by local business Kisses Under the Pillow. Kids ages 2-6 can have some fun play at our sensory play table while adults/caregivers have some quiet time to browse for books, grab a cup of tea, or just sit and relax for a few minutes.
This event is limited in space and you must purchase a ticket to participate. The store will be closed to other customers during this play time for safety.
Book Signing with Greg Clary
Join Blythe Books in Brentwood as we welcome Western Pennsylvania local Greg Clary to the store for a book signing of his poetry book the Vandalia in Me. Greg combines photojournalism with poetry to tell the tale of an Appalachian life that is not always depicted in the media.
Greg will be there to meet guests and talk about his work, and his book will be available for purchase.
This event is free to attend and open to the public.
Book Signing with Carrie DiRisio
Join Blythe Books in Brentwood as we welcome local author Carrie DiRisio to the store. A YA and romance writer, Carrie is also a big Disney fan and cat person. Meet her for a signing, buy her books to add to your TBR, find out about her upcoming works in progress, and more. It will be a great evening!

Book Signing with D.L. Jennings
Join Blythe Books in Brentwood as we welcome local author D.L. Jennings to the store for a book signing.
While deployed, Dave wrote his Highglade series, a fantasy trilogy that has often been compared to the Wheel of Time series or the Mistborn Saga. Purchase a copy of his book (or all three), talk to Dave about his upcoming fantasy work in progress, and more!

Book Signing with Susan Gottfried
Join Blythe Books in Brentwood for a book signing with local author and editor Susan Gottfried.
Susan has published several standalone books during her career, but her most popular series is Tales from the Sheep Farm, a look at members of the town of Port Kenneth, TN.
Stop by to purchase any (or all) of her books, chat with Susan about what she’s currently working on, and more!

The Yearning Yinzers is a quarterly book club meetup that looks at a different spicy romance read for each gathering. Coffee and tea will be provided at the meeting, and it’s a wonderful way to get out and socialize with other spicy romance readers!

Grand Opening Launch
We’re finally ready to open full time! Join in on a weekend-long celebration as we welcome you to our completed store! There will be books, bookish goods, contests, fun, and some really good savings on your next read. Join in on the festivities from 10-4pm on either Saturday or Sunday.
This is an all-ages event.
Sneak Peak Party - Ticketed Event
Before we officially cut the ribbon on our Grand Opening celebration, come get a sneak preview of our full makeover during this quiet and intimate preview party.
This event is ticketed, and one ticket allows entry for you and a guest. Light refreshments will be available.
All guests to this event must be 21+ of age.
