7-9pm

Join Blythe Books for a beginner embroidery class. We will work through some basic stiches together, allowing plenty of time for people of all skill levels to join in and participate. Skills covered will include (but is not limited to), threading a need, positioning fabric on a hoop, starting a new stich, finishing a stitch, and 5-6 basic embroidery stitches.

With any remaining time in class, we will begin work on a take-home project: Two holiday themed tea towels for you to work on. Keep them for yourself or gift them to someone you love for the holiday season. The best gifts are ones that are homemade.

This class is intended for anyone ages 13+. Minors attending must have parents present. The parent does not have to buy a ticket to participate, but must stay at the store during the class.

Free coffee, tea, and water will be provided by Blythe Books. You are welcome to bring your own snacks or drinks.

FAQs

What if I purchase a ticket and then can no longer attend the event? Is my ticket refundable?

All class sales are final. We use the proceeds from your ticket to pay our instructors and/or purchase supplies. We are unable to refund your spot if you are unable to attend. You are welcome to sell or gift your ticket to someone else who can attend in your place should a situation arise where you are unable to attend. Blythe Books does not help with the reselling of any tickets.

I’ve never done an embroidery project beforehand. What should I know prior to the event?

Embroidery is a forgiving skill to pick up - easy to learn the basics, and simple to correct (most) mistakes. It allows people the artistic freedom to create something that other similar skills do not. While no experience is required for this class, it is helpful if you understand what embroidery is prior to attending. Small skills like knowing how to thread a needle are helpful but not required.

Please bring glasses if you have difficulties seeing small details close up

Can I use store credit for this class?

No, our store credit is not available for most of our classes at Blythe Books, as the proceeds from your ticket(s) is/are used to purchased supplies and pay the instructor.
